Located in Weifang Binhai Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shandong Province, Weifang Binhai Wind and Solar Energy Storage Smart Energy Demonstration Base is an important part of the 10-million-kilowatt wind and solar energy storage integrated project on the salt-alkali tidal flats of northern Shandong. The base is invested and constructed by Shandong Haihua Group and other companies, with a planned total investment of RMB 14 billion and an installed capacity of 3,000 MW. Specifically, the PV power generation capacity is 2,900 MW and the wind power generation capacity is 100 MW. The construction capacity of the PV project phase I is 300 MW. Relying on the brine production area of Haihua salt plant, the project adopts a combined mode of “power generation on panel and brine production under panel”, which improves the comprehensive land utilization rate of the PV power generation project and realizes the three-dimensional and efficient utilization of solar energy and land resources.
The phase I project uses the 545 W high efficiency dual-glass PERC bifacial monocrystalline PV modules manufactured by Suntech. As the flagship product of Suntech, Ultra V series double-glass modules features high bifacial gain, ultra-long warranty, low power attenuation, and strong corrosion resistance. The client chose Suntech’s high efficiency bifacial double-glass modules for the project, as they recognize and trust the brand and high reliability of its products. It is preliminarily estimated that the project can generate nearly 400 million kWh of electricity annually after being put into operation. This means to save about 1.33 million tons of standard coal and reducing CO2 emissions by about 3.55 million tons every year, presenting promising ecological benefits.
The 10-million-kilowatt wind and solar energy storage integrated project on the salt-alkali tidal flats of northern Shandong is a major renewable energy base established under the “14th Five-Year Plan” of Shandong Province. The project serves as an important pillar for implementing the national strategic goal of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality, and is of great significance to promoting the local and efficient utilization of new energy and green energy transformation and development.
